Fire Station No. 7, at 1742 Memorial Ave., has served served the Raleigh Court neighborhood since 1922. It is scheduled to be torn down and replaced on the same spot in 2018. Our guest speaker, Roanoke Fire-EMS Chief David Hoback, says the new station will be designed to fit aesthetically into the community. Additionally, the $4.5 million new station will include a community room that will hold approximately 30 people.
Chief Hoback and his staff are requesting input from the community. Come to our membership meeting on Nov. 16 for your opportunity to make suggestions and ask questions.
In the meantime, check out this 5-minute video tour of the outdated facility with Tiffany Bradbury, Community Risk Reduction Specialist with Roanoke Fire-EMS. Ms. Bradbury will open our membership meeting with a brief presentation on home fire safety tips. Click here to view a video tour of the firehouse.
We look forward to seeing you Thursday, Nov. 16, 7 p.m., in the fellowship hall of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church, 1837 Grandin Road.
